Story: Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is the story of the relationship between two characters, Bunny & Naina. The story starts in flash-back, when Naina is invited to attend Aditi’s marriage. She remembered Bunny and the trip to Manali where she went with the three for trekking. There she falls in love with Bunny. Then it was unveiled that Bunny is going to graduate school in journalism, at Northwestern University in Chicago on scholarship. And thus the first phase of the unsaid love story ends here.

Now they all met in Aditi’s marriage after 8 long years where Bunny was not expected to come as he was not so much in touch with them. Naina finishes medical school and works in a clinic while Bunny works as a videographer for a travel show and travels the world. They gets attracted to each other once again. But again Bunny has to go as he has his plans set for future. How these two characters affect, change, uphold and fall in love with each other is the journey the film yearns to take us on. Then some time later, on the new year’s eve, someone knocks the door of Naina’s house and it was Bunny. He proposed her and the film sees a happy ending.

The story does not see any conflict regarding parental pressures or social disagreements. Instead, the characters face a real and consistent conflicts within themselves. The story reflects the mindset of those living in a metropolis.

Dialogues: Some dialogues in this flick worth remembering that make you think & smile. For instance, Bunny on a boat, staring at the water, His colleague asks him what he is looking at. He replies, “Waqt guzarte hue dekh raha hoon.”

In the starting, Naina while receiving Aditi’s marriage invitation, said “ Yaadein Mithai ke Dibbe ki tarah hoti hai, 1 baar khola to sirf 1 tukda nahi kha paoge”.

Describing his perception towards life, Bunny said, “22 tak padhai, 25 pe naukri, 26 pe chokri, 30 pe bachhe, 60 pe retirement air fir maut ka intezaar.”

Later in the film, Naina teaches Bunny the value of stopping to smell the roses. She explains that we can’t do everything in a single life so instead of running we should live in the moment.

At her marriage, Aditi says that, “Love is meeting that particular person who makes you feel happy, when you otherwise think that you are okay with your life.”

There are many such little delectable lines in the movie. Last but not the least, the manner in which Bunny proposed Naina was not all Filmy but very casual, which was admirable & different.

Verdict: The songs, the dialogue delivery, the old story in a new way, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani is a full paisa wasool movie celebrating love in a revitalizing manner. 4 stars for all the stuff that make it an enjoyable experience.
